Derry’s Shane Duffy was sent off as battling Ireland bowed out to France in the last 16 of the European Championship Finals this afternoon.
The central defender was shown a red card when he brought Griezman on the edge of the Irish penaty box 20 minutes fro time/
Robbie Brady, hero of that historic group game win over Italy on Wednesday, got his second goal of the tournament when he fired home a penalty in the second minute, a lead the Irish held until the 58th minutes when two goals in three minutes from Griezman turned the game on its head in favour of the French.
France will face either England or Iceland in the quarter-finals.
