Culmore young ones see off the rest to win the annual Gerry McAuley Festival of Games Cup

Trojans hosted yet another successful Fetival of Games for the under-8 age level at Oakland Park on at the weekend..

Sixteen teams played their part in three hours of open, entertaining and expressive youth football.

Each team played five five games something that has become part of the annual event held in memory of Trojans coach Gerry McAuley..

Every player received a special medal with printed ribbon, fruit bag and bottled water from McDonald's and also a goody bag from Trojans.

Thirteen young players were the recipients of individual awards that celebrated former youth and Trojans players.

Two new banners were unfurled and by seven of Gerry's former team-mates from the 70's and 80's - Gerry Colhoun, Gerard Bradley, Martin Begley, Philip Bradley, Paddy McLaren, Raymond Carton and Thomas Coyle.
Culmore Youth (pictured) were crowned the Mc Auley Winners for 2016.

Teams who took part this year were Tristar Boys and Tristar Colts, Maiden City, Kick Start Colts, Foyle Harps, Oxford Stars, Culmore Youth, Top Of The Hill Celtic, Aileach Youth, Ballymoor, Institute FC, Don Boscos and Boscos Youth, Strabane Athletic, Trojans and Trojans Youth.

Individual trophy winners were:

Ronnie Ballard Award went to Gavin Collins / Ballymoor
Gareth Campbell Award went to Darragh Wiley McColgan / Strabane Athletic
Peter Dentith Award went to Dean Greenwood / Maiden City
Alan Doherty Award went to Rion Mc Intyre / Oxford Stars
Jim Gallagher Award went to Jude Mc Garrigle / Tristar
Andrew Gillespie Award went to Shane Gillespie / Trojans
Shaun Harkin Award went to Keelan O'Donnell / Culmore Youth
George Mc Gowan Award went to Ethan Downey / Foyle Harps
Mark Mc Laughlin Award went to Darragh Kerrigan / Aileach Youth
Gerry Mc Auley Award went to Shay Mc Daid / TOTHC
Conor O'Neill Award went to Darragh Mc Cobb / Institute FC
Pat Thompson Award went to Finn Leake / Don Boscos
Sean White Award went to Yoann Prigent / Tristar
