Issues around costing are holding up the tendering process for the redevelopment of Brandywell Stadium, it has emerged.

Back in January, the Derry City and Strabane District Council unveiled its Brandywell Programme of Works which predicted work on the ground would begin next month and be finalised next year.
A spokesperson for the Council confirmed it was currently working through the final stages of the tendering process having “encountered some issues” around the costings for the project.
The spokesperson added: “A value engineering exercise is currently underway and construction will commence in the coming months subject to its successful completion.”
