Two arrests were made and two stolen cars were recovered and by police in Derry overnight.
The vehicles were found in the Culmore area.
Police said the cars were stolen in the area and retrieved “in the hour” by the Local Policing Team following information from the public.
The recoveries have been welcomed by Sinn Féin councillor for the area, Tony Hassan.
He said: “There have been a number of problems highlighted in recent weeks in regards to the theft and burning of cars, run-arounds, death riding.
“All of this is having a negative impact on the local community at a time when so much positive work is happening in the districts.”
Cllr Hassan urged anyone with information on those involved in such criminality to bring it forward.
