Derry police put £290,000 drugs seizure on display

Police in Derry have put on display suspected drugs seized in the city last night.

Two men were arrested and a substantial amount of suspected herbal cannabis and cash seized.

The suspects, aged 25 and 40, were detained last night after police stopped a car on Trench Road in the Waterside area of the city and a van on the Toombridge Bypass in Co Derry..

Detective Inspector Tom McClure, from the PSNI's Reactive and Organised Crime Branch, said a “substantial amount” of suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of approximately £280,000 found in the car and approximately £10,400 in cash was discovered in the van.
