Foyle DUP MLA Gary Middleton has voiced his anger following recent anti-social behaviour at St Columb's Park in the Waterside area of Derry.
Mr Middleton was speaking after received what he described as a “large number of complaints” about anti-social behaviour in the park.
He added: “I was made aware that there have been large groups of people gathering at the lower end of the park where they have been consuming alcohol, starting fires on the ground and causing disturbance for other park users.
“As we approach the summer months, St Columb’s Park should be a place where families and individuals can feel safe and where they can enjoy the surroundings.
“I have been in contact with the PSNI over the weekend during the disturbance.”
Mr Middleton concluded: “The PSNI have assured me that they are taking the issue seriously and will be working with the council and community groups to tackle the issue."
