Police in Derry have tonight released details of two drugs arrests at a Waterside park.
It follows the PSNI statement in Thursday's Derry News that they intended to step up their presence at St Columb's Park in the Waterside, after scores of young people gathered there last weekend. Residents, angry at the gathering, had threatened protests unless action was taken.
A PSNI spokesperson said tonight: "St Columbs Park, well obviously anywhere, should be somewhere for everyone to safely enjoy. We have arrested 2 people in seperate incidents in the area for possession of drugs. Please ensure that if you're enjoying the good weather, do so legally and safely. Your fun should not be to the detriment of someone else's."
