Northern Ireland suffered a disappointing defeat to Poland this afternoon in their opening game of the European Championships.
Michael O’Neill’s side, which included Derry man Shane Ferguson, were beat 1-0 during the clash in Nice.
The Poles took the lead in the second half.
Ferguson was substituted in the 65th minute as Northern Ireland went in search of an equaliser.
However, the goal did not come.
The result leaves Northern Ireland with an uphill task to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
They play Ukraine on Thursday and then take on World Cup holders Germany in Paris on Tuesday week.
