Louise James has thanked the thousands of people who have sent her messages of support since losing five members of her family in the Buncrana Pier tragedy.
Speaking to the Irish News today, the Derry woman said she had been deeply touched by the support she has received in the last couple of months.
Lousie’s partner, Sean McGrotty, sons, Mark and Evan, mother, Ruth Daniels, and sister, Jodie-Lee Daniels, all died when the car in which they were travelling slipped in to Lough Swilly from Buncrana Pier on March 20.
The sole survivor was Louise’s baby daughter Ríoghnach.
Sean managed to pass Ríoghnach into the arms of Donegal man Davitt Walsh before returning into the sinking car.
Davitt was then able to bring the baby back to shore.
Louise is pictured above with Davitt after they both recently ran the Belfast marathon to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Louise said she had received messages of support from all over the world.
“I’m still receiving messages on a daily basis. It’s nice because I have read every single one and it makes you feel sometimes like you’re not the only one grieving.
"Even though I’ve had the biggest loss, you sort of feel that you are not on your own.”
Ms James said she has been particularly moved by children who had contacted her.
“Children have been sending cheques asking will you buy Ríoghnach a gift with our pay," she said.
“That really touched my heart, that really did.”
