Two women aged 19 and 21 have been arrested following the report of an assault on a 19–year-old woman in the Lecky Road area of Derry on Saturday.
The assault was reported to police at around 11pm and is being treated as a sectarian hate crime. The injured party sustained cuts to her head which required hospital treatment.
Both arrested women remain in custody.
