Young Sinn Fein party ctivists took part in a day of action in Derry city today ahead of tomorrow’s EU Referendum.
Billboards were erected throughout the city followed by an engagement with local youth on a range of factors which relate to young people including Irish unity, jobs and rights.
Speaking from outside the Millennium Forum, chairperson of Derry Sinn Féin Republican Youth, Caolán McGinley said: "Our activists took part in an engagement with students and young people in Derry today, we discussed issues relating to them. Sinn Féin are calling for a Remain vote inThursday's vote, we believe that Students Rights' and Workers Rights' are better protected within the European Union.
"Ireland's place is in Europe. Sinn Féin want a more social and democratic Europe which puts the rights and entitlements of young people at the heart of it. A leave vote would be bad for Irish unity and investment particularly in the creation of jobs and opportunities for our youth.
"I would encourage young people in Derry and across the Six Counties to come out and vote Remain’ in the EU Referendum."
