The Brandywell area of Derry came to a standstill today as the devastated community bid a sad farewell to Ronan McGavigan, the toddler who died after being struck by a car outside his Lone Moor home on Sunday afternoon last.
Mourners joined two-year-old's heartbroken family as they carried his white coffin from his home for a Mass of the Angels in St Columba’s Church in the Long Tower.
Businesses along the route closed and staff stood by the roadside as the cortege passed by – the sombre silence broken only by the sound of the hooves of the two horses pulling the funeral carriage.
